Robert “Bobby” O’Hare is the head of the firm’s Personal Injury Group. He began his highly successful legal career, working on complex litigation matters at large international law firms. Today, while he continues to handle high stakes business and corporate matters, Bobby passionately represents people seriously injured or killed because of the wrongful conduct of others. Bobby is a skilled trial and appellate lawyer and handles cases from intake through trial and appeal. By applying his widely esteemed legal acumen and litigation skills to personal injury, medical malpractice, and wrongful death claims, he has recovered millions of dollars on behalf of clients and their families, including those killed at the World Trade Center on 9/11.
In addition to Bobby’s top-tier litigation experience and training, he brings a breadth of real world experience to his work on behalf of injured clients and their families. Before joining the legal profession, he served with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) as a police officer and sergeant in some of NYC’s toughest neighborhoods. He was a member of New York City’s Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responding to calls for medical assistance in upper Manhattan and the lower east side. And, for many years, he served as an emergency medical technician (EMT) for the largest and busiest volunteer ambulance service in New York state. In these roles, he saw first-hand how injuries can change a person’s life forever. He also saw the true commitment that police officers and first responders make to the communities they serve, and developed a special admiration for these men and women of service. Bobby is dedicated to using his experience and legal skills to help those injured or killed, including in the line of duty, obtain compensation for the wrongful acts of others.
Bobby is a former chair of the Litigation Committee and current member of the Bar Association of the City of New York, a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association (NYSTLA), and a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ).
